Pulcinella Napolenta Pizza, Calgary, AB YYC

My first visit to Pulcinella Napolenta Pizza in Calgary, AB was tonight. Unfortunately I forgot it was a major dine-out holiday so of course it was busy.

The entrance is a bit cramped, but with glass walls and door it opened up to a beautiful clean design. We were greeted immediately by a friendly, professional hostess. A table would have been an hour and a half wait, so the bar was offered to us with full menu available. Since it was the destination for our out of town guest, we opted for the bar.

All servers were friendly, made great eye contact and suited the establishment. Although fitting to watch the Olympics right now, that was the one thing that seemed a bit out of place there. Sports on big screen TVs did not suit the venue. But they'll be forgiven as they must draw business where they can.

Although my friend raved about the food all day, neither of us was very impressed by it tonight. We ordered 2 appetizers; the mushrooms and Calamari. Nice but nothing special. We all ordered pizzas, 4 of us, and shared them all. They were tasty, however, some were slightly over done on the crust side while undercooked and a bit soggy in the center. Everyone else loved the Tiramisu. It's not my favorite dessert so I don't have a valid opinion on that one.

Again, it IS a holiday and things can be hectic for restaurants, perhaps the food is better on the average day - but shouldn't it always be consistent? While sitting at a bar, you're bound to see and here some server chit chat - understandable. I do encourage all restaurants to be very conscious of what clients can see and overhear when seated at the bar...

I do say though, all the servers we encountered were great! That is rare for me to be able to say - I used to train new employees for a major retail chain and it's tough to find all the right people. So great job on that guys!

Overall, I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It's better on the atmosphere than the food. But I'll give it another try on a regular day!

Health Scares Today

The best thing anyone can do is the best thing anyone can ALWAYS do for their health. Take good care of your body, keep your immune system strong. Exercise, drink plenty of water and remember to sleep! One of the most important things to us is sleep. If you do all the others yet are worn out from lack of sleep, nothing is as effective.

We typically do not sleep enough so how can we expect our bodies to work properly?

The Secret - Starting to Implement

So you've watched "The Secret" and maybe it wasn't all that clear as to what you should actually do. It's quite a bit to swallow at first and most don't find it all that self explanatory.

I'd suggest you start with little experiments of your own power to achieve things with your mind. The real trick is to believe you can achieve it! That's the tough part.

When I first started experimenting with it I wanted to get my teeth whitened. I couldn't afford it and have no dental coverage at all. So every night for 2 whole weeks, I envisioned my own mouth with whiter prettier teeth. It was like it had already been accomplished. Low and behold, 2 weeks later, I get an email from a friend who had a friend who needed a favor from me. She happened to work in a dental office and offered for me to get my teeth whitened for FREE. Yes free! it seemed to come out of no where. But the reality is, once you start to focus on something you really want, you not only think about it, you talk about it. That will open doors and possibilities. My friend knew I wanted to get this done so she helped connect the dots when the opportunity arose.

That was the beginning of my true understanding of the secret.

Pick something simple and achievable and you'll soon see, your mind, plus some small actions like talking about your desires will make it happen for you too!
